London, capital of the United Kingdom is the largest and one of the oldest cities of the world. It is located in southeastern England, standing on the banks of River Thames. On the south bank of River Thames, the giant London Eye with Ferris wheel stands as the tallest Ferris wheel in the United Kingdom. Ferris wheel is an amusement wheel consisting of rotating upright wheel with multiple passenger carrying components attached the rim of the wheel. The structure is about 443 feet tall with the wheel’s diameter of about 120 meters. The London eye is the second highest public viewing point in London after the observation deck on the 72nd floor of the Shard. The wheel has 32 sealed and air conditioned passenger capsules which are attached to the external circumference of the wheel and rotated by electric motors.
One of the most vibrant and busiest places in the middle of the city, Trafalgar Square is surrounded by museums, galleries, cultural spaces and historic buildings. It is a significant landmark since the 13th century after the Battle of Trafalgar, a British naval victory in the Napoleonic Wars. The Square is used for community gatherings and political demonstrations. It has become the center for protest as well.
